Mespatch No.bl of the 4th February, a copy of which

was sent to you "irect, you shoul4 in the first place

sAvise the Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation Limit-

ef to withdraw their application for the registration

of their lemah as a British vessel. Should they not

be willing to do so, I authorize you to warn them that

after such registration is effected sation will be taken

to prevent the launch from being used for the purpose

for which it is inten^e^ by the withdrawal of protee-

tion under the provisions of Ting's Degulations "o.1

of 1988, and that should thereafter the launch fly the

British fing proceedings will be taken uaer Section 7

of the moy Consular "istrict General Regulations, since

though British protection has been with rawn from the

Company it still of course remains subject to British

jurisiction.
